X200 type:MFG_IN and serial: _GOING after repair [ Edited ]

Got one of the X200 laptops repaired, motherboard replaced under warranty and now type and serial reported in bios are wrong.

Genuine type: "7455-FGG" now "MFG_IN"

Serial now "_GOING"

tried running BIOS update using the genuine type nothing changed.

what do you suggest i do?

If that is causing you a problem, you will need to get the service center which replaced the motherboard to fix it. I suggest you contact them.

Anything helps, i was suggested to do the same, though maybe i can fix it myself by updating the BIOS or somehow changing the machine type.

Hi nveronski, Unfortunately there's no easy way to do that yourself. The service center made a mistake, and they should be all over putting it right for you!
