Dear All,
I am using an X201 in conjunction with an external TFT display in an extended desktop configuration. The X201 display is used as the primary. My OS is Windows 7 enterprise.
There is a problem which has been bugging me and I have been unable to find a solution. The problem is that when running in this dual monitor configuration, the desktop icons move around if I place the mouse pointer near the edges of either display. The move off the screen in some instances such that only a few of them are still visible. This does not happen when using only the X201 panel without an external display connected. I'm aware this is more of a Windows 7 issue but was wondering whether anyone else with this configuration has noticed this rather odd and irritating behaviour.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Yes, I checked this first since I'm aware that you can extend the desktop beyond the maximum resolution of the display. The X201 display is at 1280 x 800 and the external TFT is at 1280 x 1024. These are the displays' respective maximum resolutions.

I have found a solution now: disabling "animate controls and elements inside windows" in "advanced system settings". Very odd.

I've had the same problems for few months now on my x200s.
I've just finally solved it by disabling the "Enable Auto Scroll function" option in the On Screen Display tab of the Display's Advanced Settings.
I don't know if it's the same as your "animate controls and elements inside windows" option though, or if it's two different things.

Thanks bro, worked like a charm.
