Thank you. But this number and all others in lenovo website for senegal dont work, are wrong, outdated, are answered by someone who has mothing to do with lenovo. I called Lenovo call center andqthey were not able to give me better updated info. I need real help from Lenovo. I bought this machine at the end of March in the UK to work in a project in Senegal. Now I'm here in the middle of it and the machine is dead. I might be sent back home and loose my job if I don't find a way to fix it very soon. Please help me Rgds Lucas

Dont buy this laptop. It obviously has a defect. Dissapointing since these laptops are supposed to be high end. I Have the same exact issue after a month. Plug in power source and three to four flashes on the power indicator, no lcd and wont power on.. The user manual says this is a systems board issue. I want a refund.

Re: X220 - no post and green light around power button flashes every 3 - 4 second

Hi: Today my x220 has died, AGAIN, this is the 4th occasion. I have called Lenovo, they are going to change again the mainboard (the 4th motherboard in 6 months). I'll try to return the laptop, I'll never buy again lenovo hardware. I'm going to discourage anybody who ask my opinion about Lenovo products. Four mainboard changes are enough. Regards.

suxonoff,

Are you saying you are now 4 weeks waiting on a replacement part (systemboard) or that the system died after 4 weeks of use?   These failures tend to be early in life.   If you are waiting on the part, please send me a PM with your sevice case number - will see what we can do to move this along.

Sorry for the trouble!

Jotero,

That seems really odd - could you send me a PM with the MT and serial number of your system?   I'd like to look into the history of these repairs.  Thanks!

Mark

Hi: A month ago I sent to you a PM as requested. No signs from you since then. It is everything OK? Do you need anything else? Best regards

Re: X220 - no post and green light around power button flashes every 3 - 4 second

Hi again. Still no news ...
It is a bit annoying, I will be on holidays on August and it would be an excellent occasion to repair/return the laptop. I suspect that in some of the latest crashes the issue appears about 15 days after bios upgrade. It is sounding if really it is an eeprom issue. The thing is, should I upgrade the bios or not? I think that it is needed if a ssd upgrade is planned.

Re: X220 - no post and green light around power button flashes every 3 - 4 second

Ok first time poster. I have had about 20 thinkpads over the years and this is my first one to die. I am nearing the end of my dissertation and put my 13 month old x220 to sleep and then off to a meeting. When I go there nothing but this light sequence. I was told immediately it was the motherboard by tech support and now I wait and wait and wait to find out what my options are. I am afraid based on the runaround I am getting that my  thinkpad buying days are over. Maybe I will pull out my 500, 510 701C, 380ED of one of my X31s . They all still work just fine!

Are you waiting because technical support couldn't help you? or you are waiting for your laptop to come back from warranty repair?  What runaround are you getting?
