Hi there,
I really like x220 but also heard that the D-sub port cannot give a good display quality on large monitors, say 1080p. It is said that D-sub cannot provide enough bandwidth or something like that. Since 1366*768 is the only option, i will surely need an external monitor to deal with my work (not graphic-heavy tho, so integrated card is okay, and FHD is prefered for movies
). Could anyone here verify this? If its true i might go for t420s with display port.
Thank you

The x220 has a DisplayPort as well, so why can't you use that?
From the Thinkpad Book (http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf:
Intel HD Graphics 3000 in processor, external analog monitor support via VGA DB-15 connector and digital monitor support via DisplayPort (supports single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915); supports dual independent display; Maximum external resolution: 2560x1600 (DisplayPort)@60Hz; 2048x1536 (VGA)@75Hz; 1920x1200@60Hz (single-link DVI-D via cable 45J7915)

Sorry if it's here, but I could not find the information that I'm looking for :
Could someone please tell me what the max resolution would be on the X220 i7 integrated graphics with two external monitors (internal turned off)? If the system is docked, will it automaticlly switch from internal to dual external and vice-versa without issue? (wrong forum, but also looking for same information on the T510 w/ Nvidia (not optimus))
Thanks!
