This issue isn't being ignored.  BIOS team is investigating it.  I will update here when I know more.

Thank you very much for your reply. Because till you answer I had the fear that Lenovo would tell us that there is a reason for not allowing eGPUs  and so they woukld keep the problem with the TOLUD.

But now I am very happy and I cant wait for the fix

I assume this fix will be working with the x230 tablet as well as the standard laptop, as I assume they use the same BIOS arrangemnts.

BIOS team found the problem that causes this issue which affects all 30-series ThinkPad (X230, X230 Tablet, T430, T530, etc).  They are currently working on a release plan for new BIOS version.  I will update here when I know more information.

The BIOS to fix this issue for X230 should be released around the middle of August.

I don't know the fix plan for X230 Tablet yet, I will try to find out.

I'm hoping since both the X230 and X230T have almost exactly the same innards that the BIOS should come out relatively same time for both. Fingers crossed!

Just received my X230T and was about to order a eGPU...  glad I came across this thread first.  Just the same, I will be even happier when Lenovo releases a fix.

I also own an X230T and this issue is prohibiting me from using my machine as a workstation. Please fix it Lenovo.
