Hi,
I have bought a new X301 thinkpad with Windows 7 Home premium.
I have tested the wireless speed on Speedtest.net
The wireless connection on the machine is fast (20-22 MBPS) when I reset the modem but soon drops back (0.8-0.9 MBPS) after a while and I have to reset the modem again. It's frustrating to reset the modem every hour.
I have tried updating the driver, flushdns, winsock reset.
At first I thought it could be the router (linksys WRT54GS), but I have another Thinkpad T-42 which has consistent speeds (7-8 MBPS).
Has anybody seen this before or has any advice that I haven't tried?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Maverick6f

i dont have windows 7 but have dealt with it and it can be annoying on older routers. Sometimes people have problems while IPv6 is enabled maybe turning that off will help.

Check your power saving options for the WLAN adapter.
Under system options -> power saving -> advanced options for your selected power saving preset.
Inside the options tree, there is also an option for WLAN power saving. Don't set it to maximum power saving or try to disable power saving temporary.
