X61 Tablet Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) at undock

[ Edited ]
I got my X61 tablet and X6 wedge back in September.  I'm running Vista with all the latest updates.  (BTW, SP1 has greatly improved the stability and performance of my system.)  The two components worked together very nice for the first few month, but starting in mid-February (shortly after a rather large set of Windows/Lenovo), I started having trouble with the undock feature.  Almost every time I try to undock, I get the BSOD.  I've tried undocking from other profiles, when logged out, etc, but nothing seems to help.  Every once in a while the undock with work, but that is not reproducible.

Anyone else experiencing problems like this?  Or, better still, anyone have a solution?

Failure detail:  Always error 0x00000018, often followed by (0xbad0b0b0,[different every time], 0x00000002, 0xffffffff)

There is a device driver that needs to be updated... download new drivers from the web and uninstall/reinstall the hardware drivers.

Have you tried running system update?

Re: X61 Tablet Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) at undock

I have the same BSOD issue during undocking. Mine is an X60 with Vista. At first
I rarely got the BSOD untill I updated to SP1. Now it will blue screen every time even after
uninstalling SP1. All the latest drivers are in place from Lenovo. Microsoft tried
to assist me but after two months of trying different things, we decided to give up
untll Lenovo comes up with a fix. They were unsuccessful in decifering the mini dump.
It seems to be related to a USB hub. The error I get refers to hidusb.sys.

Just an update here.  It's been several months, and the problem continues.  SP1 is installed, and I regularly run the ThinkVantage System Update.  I'm curious whether anybody from Lenovo is listening?

Re: X61 Tablet Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) at undock

Disable the Intel Turbo Memory Controller if your system has one.

I had the exact same thing until I turned it off...

Open the Intel Turbo Memory Controller application

click on Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip

disable Windows ReadyBoost

disable Windows ReadyDrive

The Intel TMC is crap.

I would experience Blue Screens 10x day until I disabled the above.

Good Luck.
