I bought my X61 in japan a couple months ago. The type is 7675-49J. I found a SIM Card slot at the bottom, is it a built up - mobile broadband? How to set it up, so I can get connected to the internet? Please give me the detail instructions!!!
I live in Indonesia, can I use local internet provider's SIM Card to get connected to the internet?

Apa kaba Tabina,
The standard configuration for that model is....
Product: ThinkPad X61 7675-49J Operating system: All Original description: T7300(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel X3100, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Fingerprint reader, 4c Li-Ion, WinVista Business
...so, no it didn't come from the factory with a WWAN device installed.
All X61 models have the body moulding for a SIM card slot, but there may be no "reader" for a SIM card on the planar board behind the slot, or any WWAN antennas in the screen assembly. The only way you can tell for certain is to disassemble the X61 and see if it has "WWAN ready" components installed...... but my guess it is highly unlikely that it would.
My X61 76763PM certainly doesn't.
Cheers,
Bill
I don't work for Lenovo
