X61s Random shutdown during BIOS update - Need help!

I was applying the BIOS update 7nuj21uc and sadly the laptop shut itself down during the write. I'm not sure if that update would have even corrected the rebooting problem, but it now only boots to a black screen with no logo and cycles without POST.

 

Are there instructions to reset the bios so I can re-write it from the bootable CD?

a bad bios flash usually means a bricked motherboard.
