What does it mean when the light around the power button only blinks instead of starting computer?

Blinks once or continuously?

blinks as long as depressed when trying to power on computer...blinks a couple times per second when depressed...stops blinking when released but computer does nothing else...

was pluged in and functioning one minute, blank screen the next and thats all... I was thinking it was some diagnostic code or something...?

I have parts sitting around, but the first thing I would try is a different keyboard

so with no spare parts lying around, I should try to find a warranty service depot...in Ecuador...wish me luck!
