Hello,
I have a 128GB BP3 MyDigitalSSD mSATA SSD in my X220, which uses the PHISON S8 controller, with the factory OS load installed to it via recovery media. No problems noted.

we shall see what we shall see... ;-)
i got my m4 late today. installed fine and bios sees it, so that's good.
i haven't done a system recovery (from made recovery disks) yet. i'm following a thread on the crucial forum about firmware versions on the m4 cards. basically, the latest and greatest fw is 000F with the prior being 0309. some folks, at the recommendation of crucial, are downleveling from 000F to 0309 because of issues with 000F.
i'll probably install the os later tonight even if i don't get a response.

ok... so far so good.
the recovery (from the made disk set) went without a hitch. i did the recovery with the platter drive removed from the main bay. once complete i installed a blank 7k500 sata3 hitachi drive for data/user files. all app executables, temp files and swap will reside on the msata ssd.
everything seems to be working quite nicely. boot up from power button press to usable desktop is in the 25 second range, which includes typing in my windows pwd. i haven't started extensive de-bloating or service disabling yet, so we'll see how much it improves. as expected program launching is considerably quicker than from a platter drive.
before i spend much time on further configuration, i'm going to wait for info from crucial on the best fw.

you're welcome, Jim.
so far, i've only rec'd one response over on the crucial forum, pointing out that most of the problems with the 000F fw were on macs. i saw a few posts suggesting a smallish reduction in benchmark scores, also, so i'm going to do a bit more digging while awaiting additional responses.
this is my first foray into ssds, but i'm cautiously optimistic. ![]()

I have the regular 2.5" version (256GB) in my T430s running Win7-64 with no issues. The drive came with 000F firmware and I haven't touched it.
As for small differences in benchmark scores, I doubt most users could perceive the difference unless the scores varied by at least 25%. I find it mildly amusing when so-called experts downgrade one drive over another, let alone one version of firmware over another, because its benchmark score was slightly lower. In the real world it doesn't make any difference. If your drive works OK with 000F I'd leave things alone and enjoy the quantum leap in performance over HDD. There are far easier and more effective ways to wring out more performance from a computer.

i agree, hausman.
it's a lively discussion on the crucial forum over the issue, though. so many variables...
