system rescue and recovery

I acidentally erased the Q: drive.

I created a partition on my hard disc named D: drive.

How do I use that partition for backup/restore?

Thanks

Re: system rescue and recovery

@Thor,

If you have deleted one of the partition for Lenovo Recovery, you would need to contact support and order the Lenovo recovery disc in order to restore the partition again.

I have a Y2P (i5) ... Feel free to ping me if you want me to test some applications with your Y2P if you have the same model. I don't mind keep doing recovery on it if needed .... =)

Re: system rescue and recovery

ExJamJus --- I recreated another drive and am saving backups there. It is no longer named Q: but now D:
Is this a problem?

Re: system rescue and recovery

It depends ... Did you create a factory restore CD before you did the partition? If you did then there is no need to order the factory restore CD. If you didn't then its no longer possible to create the factory restore CD after you have altered the partition of the disc

Re: system rescue and recovery

For some reason Windows Backup and Restore is frozen -- even after restarting the system :smileyfrustrated:

The "manage space", "backup now", "change settings" buttons all do nothing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
