Why didn't I see any mention of how horrible the display is in one of the 10 In-depth product reviews I read for the sole purpose of avoiding disappointments like this.

Here’s an example from laptopmag.com
The 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768-pixel matte display produced colorful images and strong viewing angles. We still saw a sharp and relatively bright image of the desktop at 90 degrees to the left or right of center.

Well, there two different panels that are being used in th x120e, a Samsung LTN116AT01-401 (better) and an LG LP116WH1-TLB1 (worse).

It could be the review sites were sent units with the better panels as I'm sure Lenovo is aware that ones is better than the other.

Re: x120e - poor LCD quality/viewing angles

The Samsung panel in my X100e looks really good... Maybe consider a panel swap?

Re: x120e - poor LCD quality/viewing angles

Mine says:
Monitor Name ThinkPad Display 1366x768 [NoDB]
Monitor ID – LEN40D1
Manufacturer B116XW02 V1

Is it Samsung, LG or different?
