I tend to find it rare that the event log provides any meaningful information event log 6008 states that an unexpected shut down happened at the stated time and date...

I just got the first shutdown last night after updating bios and power manager. It says "The previous system shutdown at 11:03:30 PM on ‎10/‎20/‎2010 was unexpected." I saved it as .evtx file. How can I send it to you?

A CU reverted that this issue could be caused by the USB ports, please let me know when you are using the laptop, any of one have more than 2 USB ports used?

Nope, I don't recall having anything plug in either of my USB ports...

I've seen both.  I recently got one this morning with 2 of my USB ports plugged (mouse and keyboard).

However, I didn't have any USB ports attached during the previous shut down (during large email receiving).

My X201 has the same problem

Model - MTM: 3249CTO

BIOS version: 1.22

OS loaded (ex. Win 7 64bit): Windows7 64bit

Lenovo default OS?: No, right now. But in default OS, it still happened

Issue happen on Battery / AC / Both?: AC( random shutdown)/ Battery ( contrast changed)

Updates from TVSU completed?: YES

Updates from Windows Updates?: YES

Power Manager Version: 3.30

Power Management Driver: 1.60.0.4

RAM installed (brand and 1 x 4gb, 1 x 2gb, 2 x 2gb?): 2x2 GB

BSOD error code?: YES, BSOD each time!!!

3rd party application installed before issue happen?: NO

Any particular application which is running on the time this issue arises?: NO, it happened randomly!

Using docking station?: NO

I have sent X201 to Lenovo AU. The case No. is P4DRJL9. They changed LCD, but this problem was not fixed.

And I got system log. This issue was recorded:

Hi All,

Engineering has recommended the following and see if issue persist.

• Factory restore to Lenovo preload.
• Disable Windows Update and update only via TVSU
• Disable Windows Defender.

Engineering has also set up a similar simulation as above to be tested in the lab.

I should be receiving about 150 of the units soon hopefully they don't suffer from this issue it is at least good to know you are working on the issue thanks for your efforts so far...
