I tend to find it rare that the event log provides any meaningful information event log 6008 states that an unexpected shut down happened at the stated time and date...

I just got the first shutdown last night after updating bios and power manager. It says "The previous system shutdown at 11:03:30 PM on 10/20/2010 was unexpected." I saved it as .evtx file. How can I send it to you?

Nope, I don't recall having anything plug in either of my USB ports...

I've seen both. I recently got one this morning with 2 of my USB ports plugged (mouse and keyboard).
However, I didn't have any USB ports attached during the previous shut down (during large email receiving).

Engineering has recommended the following and see if issue persist.
Engineering has also set up a similar simulation as above to be tested in the lab.

I should be receiving about 150 of the units soon hopefully they don't suffer from this issue it is at least good to know you are working on the issue thanks for your efforts so far...
