Well, I ultimately did three things:
1. bought myself a new SSD drive,
2. did a clear Win7 install,
3. Installed an update for Intel AMT firmware version 4.2.50.1055. As far as I remember, I had to do manual update.
All the problems are gone. IMHO, 3rd step helped (updating the firmware for Intel AMT). Now I have no shutdowns, but as well all the problems with sleep/standby disappeard - computer is working flawlessly now, as it never did before.
So it definitely was a software problem, not a hardware one.Try updating the Intel AMT firmware (this is not done automatically with TVSU) and see, if it helps.

My latest reboot gave this code:
0x1000007f (0x00000008, 0xb9b50d70, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
Event-ID: 1001
What does it mean? Hardware related?

Hello again,
An update / FYI.
My PC continues to work fine since blowing air through the cooling vents back in November 2011. I'm certain now that
dust build up was the culprit regarding my PC overheating and shut downs...
I have been using my PC quite heavily since, and sometimes I leave it on for days. Not a hint of overheating and not one
shut down or crash.
I've been very happy with the performance of my PC and there has been nothing else quirky, no hang-ups or
other crashes . On top of this my PC is up to date regarding Windows 7 and Lenovo. Furthermore I switched to
running Windows Security Essentials (free) after my subscription of F-Secure ran out in November...not that this is
necessarily a factor, but these are the only changes I have made to my PC other than the usual updates from various
apps such as Firefox, Adobe, etc.
For more info about my experiences you can read my pervious posts.

I ran a memory test for 12 hours and found no errors.
Just uppdated the Conexant 20585 SmartAudio HD driver from 3.66.138.50 to 3.66.140.51, now I just have to wait and see...
PS. Also running a temp log from today.
