I have a new x220 whick I bought a series 3 port replicator (433710U) with it. However, when the machine is docked, i cannot start windows. it's stuck at the Lenovo screen that says to interrupt normal boot, press the blue ThinkVantage button. Any ideas?

Is there a BIOS setting related to expecting a docking station to be there?

Did this ever get sorted out? I'm having the same problem (never gets past Thinkpad splash screen when in the dock, continues almost immediately when removed). Are others having the same issue?

Same here! Until recently (last week) everything worked fine but now my X220 (4290-W1C) doesn't boot when docked. I can't even see the LENOVO start screen (so definitely no windows issue). But still no Problems when undocked. Any suggestions?

Hi,
i disagree Serge1410...
Your's laptop and dock are NEW and you CAN to use it without any update... i think that your's dock is dead, if you have a friend with the same dock, this to use his dock.
If with another dock your's laptop start correctly is your's docking that is dead. If with another dock the problem persist, is the motherboard to replace.
I just had this problem with my customer, if you follow my istruction, you can fix the problem...
remember... when you buy a new laptop, this got working PERFECT without any update
bye

I have the same issue.
I purchased a NEW X220 and DOCK.
Everything has been working fine for 2 days... Now when I dock the computer, and try to boot normally - nothing happens.
The computer seems to get stuck - and will not boot into Windows. I'm not sure if Windows did an update or something.
I have been able to "TRICK" the system - by putting the computer in Standby... THEN Docking the X220 ... then opening the lid, and hitting the power button. When I do this - the X220 comes on, and lites up my (2) LCD Monitors.
But - I don't want to have to perform this "Trick" every time.

I have exactly the same problem. The docking station works in every other respect - audio, USB, eSata etc etc. It just will not boot in the dock.
Saying "it must be a dead docking station" is lame.

Hello,
Has anyone tried updating the Firmware or rolling back the driver for the Docking station/port replicator?
