next time it occurs take a picture of it and then print it and then include that picture with the laptop when you send it in for repair.

Yes, that's a good idea. It usually fixes itself after a second or two so even that will be a fun challenge.

Lenovo replaced part 4w3462 which I think is the LCD. The screen is working properly so far.

 

They returned the machine to me without a hard-drive cover and the hole for the cover screw looks pretty beat up.

 

I had the touchpad disabled in BIOS when I sent it in and the depot updated BIOS and reenabled the touchpad. The left physical mouse button now sometimes registers double clicks when pressed only once. Disabling the touchpad in BIOS eliminated the issue but it seems like it might be a hardware problem. I never use the touchpad so I'm not sure if this is worth sending it back in, I'll probably just keep the machine as-is.
