Re: x300 Freezing Problem

Hello,

I have a X300 since a month and I experience freezing which, I suspect, comes when using wi-fi. I would like to try the reset Winsock.

When right clicking on cmd Vista does not offer the option of elevation. How can I obtain the authorization of administrator.

Thanks

Re: x300 Freezing Problem

My X300 has the freezing problem too. I sent it to the repair station. They sent it back after 2 weeks. On the repair sheet, they didn't replace any hardware.
The only thing left on the repair report is "Corrupted OS. Had No permission to reload."
Could any professional tell me what is the message means?
Did they find out what part caused the freezing problem? Or they just didn't do anything but sent it back.
Waiting for result.
Thanks!

Re: x300 Freezing Problem

No idea of what that means! You should ask the repair center.

They asked me to reset to the initial system and I had to spend  couple of hours to reinstall systeme and some applications (by the way, MS Office is missing on Restore DVD). As a result it was working for some hours..Due to the time to be spent to reinstall fom scratch, I reinstalled my system and applications from my last BU on usb HDD. For th time being, it is  .ok, but I am pretty sure it is a HW problem.

It is the first time I see a computer freezing that way since years. Happily it happen no more than once a day.

Re: x300 Freezing Problem

AFAIK there is no v1.10 BIOS available for the X300 at present. The changelog mentions it, but the linked file is actually v1.09.

Re: x300 Freezing Problem

Any new updates on this Lenovo? My new X300 patched with all the latest drivers is still crashing on me once a day... will be returning for a full refund soon if no solution is available. I can't live with the thought that I could loose my work at any second.

Re: x300 Freezing Problem

Sending my x300 back to the service depot for a second time, I was recently experiencing crashes several times a day until I disabled wireless and have not frozen while using ethernet for 4 days now.

Previous troubleshooting pointed to the main battery before but I think that might have just been a coincidence or there is a fundamental problem in the laptop causing conflicts and disabling peripheral devices has made the machine stable but replacing and re-enabling has not solved the underlying problem.

I'm going to contact the depot when my laptop is being serviced and try to convince them to actually replace the mainboard or at least I can point them at the wireless component now as the newest suspect.

Re: x300 Freezing Problem

any other success stories with replaced motherboard/wifi chip? i've been experiencing this for just under a year now. Figure I should use my warranty before it expires.

wondering what people did to get it done. "submit a request" link in the lenovo support pages?
