x300 brightness control not working under Vista

Hello everyone,

 

Suddenly the brightness adjustment of my laptop stopped working, and the screen is pretty dark now. Using the keys (Fn + x) northing happens (the green bars dont even show up). Plugging in the power cable doesnt change anything either, nor can i change the brithness using the power saving settings.

 

Maybe it is a driver related problem? I am using Vista x32 and the ill child is an x300 type 6477.

go into your bios menu and then change the LCD brightness using the Fn + Home/End. This should test whether this is a software/driver related issue or hardware related issue.
