Hi
I have upgraded the BIOS on my X301 from 1.02-1.02 to 3.10-1.05 and are experiencing a significant raise in power consumption 20-25% (guess). I upgraded with the hope that I would get a better battery-life and BIOS boot-up times, but that does not seem to be the case.
Now I would like to go back to version 1.02-1.02, at least to check if my memory about power-consumption is right, and to make some "scientific" compares.
However, the BIOS "upgrade" for 1.02-1.02 only exist in a Windows version, and I do not have Windows installed on my system. I've tried with BartPE (Windows-XP Live-CD) but the WINUPDT.EXE fails complaining about a charged battery is not present (and then aborts the "upgrade") - "WINUPDT.EXE /S" just exits without any actions.
Questions:
----
Is it possible to get hold of a bootable CD-image for BIOS "upgrade" to 1.02-1.02 ?
OR
Is there a switch I could give WINUPDT.EXE to bypass the battery-check?
OR
?
Best regards

Hi Knaldgas, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
Bootable CD-images for the BIOS are available in the X301 drivers & software matrix:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/DRVR-MA
Hope this helps!

Hi bananaman
Thank you very much!
Been there, done that, but I went there again and this crazy thing happened: I *found* it ![]()
The other times, I just scrolled down at the BIOS-page found the list of older BIOS which only are linked to Windows exe-files. This time I went to the "Additional Information" and "BIOS bootable CD", and within *that* page I scrolled down and found what I was looking for!
Thank you very much!

Were you able to downgrade BIOS using the Bootable CD BIOS?
Is it possible to downgrade BIOS via the Bootable CD?
