G560 - maximum resolution with external monitor?

Display, G560, GPU, How To, Intel, Video

Question

I've just purchased a G560, and I'm using it with an external monitor that can go to 1200 x 1400.

I do not seem to be able to get the vertical resolution higher than 768...I'm at 1024 x 768 at the moment. 1366 x 768 is the highest mode listed, but as my monitor is 5x4 and not widescreen, everything looks squashed in that mode.

What am I missing?

Answer

The maximum resolution is 1366x768, so you cannot select a vertical resolution higher than 768.

To confirm:

1) Right on the desktop and select properties

2) Select the settings tab

3) Click on the second display (for your external display)

4) Move the resolution slider toward maximum resolution. If 1366 X 768 is the maximum listed, then this is the highest vertical resolution possible.
