You can upgrade the operating system if you had ordered a R500 with Windows 7.

The COA key label is displayed under the laptop.  The COA is valid for either 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows 7 provided the same version (home premium, professional, ultimate) is used.

The COA is valid to activate OEM versions of Windows.  Switching version will require a retail or upgrade COA / Activation key.
