Lenovo A5 (L18011) - Not registering to network

2019-01-24, 12:45 PM

Hello all,

I have recently received my new Lenovo A5, L18011.

It is a chinese version, I am trying to use it in Poland, language of use is english.

An issue is that after inserting SIM card, a network is detected (Orange),

but the telephone/card is not registering to it (IMEI info is null, no phone number in info).

Tried a couple of things:

  • switching to 2/3/4G networks
  • switching band mode (*removed*) to European
  • factory reset
  • system update (it's up to date actually , it says)
  • choosing operator/network manually

The sim card was checked in another phone, it works.

Any ideas what else could work here?

Regards

Y

Hi RGoo820,

We do not recommend buying a phone and using it in another country where it is intended to be used cause there will be some network and warranty limitation. May I know if you checked the compatibility of the phone with your carrier? Have you tried using another sim card too?

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

I have only checked the card in other phone. It was working.

I haven't checked another card in Lenovo A5, as I couldn't find any nanoSIM around (only mSIMs).

Regarding compatibility, at least 2G should be working:
