Squeeky wheel doesn't always get the oil... sometimes it gets replaced.

Hi Mark,

We haven't heard from you in a while, can we get a status update on the bootloader solution?

Thanks.

Addressed to Mark, but this is really for any of the Mods...when do you think there will be word from Motorola concerning the unlocking of the bootloader?  Even if the answer is "never," at least it would let me move on.  Right now I feel like we're all in limbo waiting for word.  Thumbs up or thumbs down is good enough for me.  Thanks.

Brad

Forum Mark, Moto's well overdue for an update. Please check in so we know that Moto knows this topic isn't dead yet.

Put some bootloader honey on these starving kids bread! If you give a dollar to a homeless man, its almost like science fiction replication...the homeless man multiplies into many more of various shapes and odors, all relying. And trusting in your nature.

Lets get this unsigned for the devs so your popularity and sales go up... and you wont be smelling my odors lol!

That's fine with me at this point.  Do not charge me the ETF because Motorola and AT&T have failed to deliver on their promise of a bootloader solution, 4g, and calling their Motoblur OS android, and I will happily move on to another carrier and device manufacturer.

Right now IMHO this amounts to false advertising (ie calling it android phone which implies an open platform, and saying it's a computer that's a phone - Well I have admin rights on computers I bought), and intentional deception (promised bootloader solution, again saying Motoblur is a tool, not that you HAVE to use Motoblur since it can not be removed and even if you use other apps, it's still always running), and consumer fraud (Atrix 4G but the 4G is disabled).

makophoenix:

I found this:

http://ausdroid.net/2011/04/26/the-little-aussie-taking-on-motorola-u-s/

“In terms of your question – we completely understand the operator  requirement for security to the end user, and as well, want to support  the developer communities desire to use these products as a development  platform.  It is our intention to enable the unlockable/relockable  bootloader currently found on Motorola XOOM across our portfolio of  devices starting in late 2011, where carriers and operators will allow  it.”

Hope? But omg late 2011
