Hope? But omg late 2011

Unofficial, and IMHO Too Little Too Late for many...

I think you guys missed the point.

The line "where carriers and operators will allow  it." is the only important part of that statement. In other words, AT&T (the company that won't let us use the Amazon App Store) would have to permit Motorola to unlock the bootloader.

You think that's going to happen?

You guys disabled my account after I asked for a refund. I think it's time we all asked for a refund since Motorola is unable to uphold their end of the bargain.  For 4 months I've been waiting for this damned bootloader solution and you lousy scammers act like you never promised anything.  I want a refund immediately! I don't want anything to do with the dirty lying scoundrels known as Motorola. If you guys had any dignity you would announce your solution or give a refund to your unhappy customers.

Don't think for a second that we don't realise you're trying to bury this thread.

@jonnsmith

Your account was not disabled because you asked for a refund. Rather it was disabled because you couldn't follow the after multiple abuse reports and a direct request to follow the rules. Futhermore. We're not trying to hide anything here. There are lots of negative posts here. The difference is that some people are candid and stay within the rules and others are candid and their language is outsite the rules.

It's not going to happen.  I've given up holding my breath.  I wish it does, I hope it does, but unless a consumer advocate gets involved I don't see this ending well for us and the atrix in general.

Good news is, even in their stores bestbuy is selling the atrix for $30.00/2year... so maybe, just maybe there will be enough of an influx of people....

If Motorola was actually serious about the dev / hacker community, they wouldn't have put out a PR spun FAQ, they would have released the keys to existing bootloaders. All this does is buy them a few days of good PR for a change, and when locked bootloaders keep rolling out in 2012, they'll have an excuse, "The carrier requested it."

Nice try, Moto.

Yup, apparently time to go after AT&T as well as Motorola.  I started a facebook discussion on AT&T's support page.  Chime in if you like.
