Fastboot mode on Yoga Tab 3 Plus

Hi,

in order to flash a custom ROM I am trying to start my Yoga Tab 3 Plus in fastboot mode. Nevertheless if I try to start it via adb or "Volume up"+"Power" only an orange Lenovo logo apears. It stays like this.

OEM unlock is enabled under developer options. I also read that the unlocking needs to be requested from Lenovo but I did not find any way to do it on their website.

Any comment is appreciated.

Re: Fastboot mode on Yoga Tab 3 Plus

I managed the following by using the stetp by step guide here:

1) https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/YTX703L/install

(installing adb and fastboot as described in this tutorial for mac - https://wiki.lineageos.org/adb_fastboot_guide.html)

(I am not sure the creating of a Lenovo account ist necessairy when your device is outside the warranty period)

(My device startet with a google protect "service" which is also good to deactivite to get quicker into adb or fastboot mode)

How ever I got stock because after flashing the TWRP-file because it the tablet would only reboot in the "official/ original" recovery menue...

I could see that the unlocking had not correctly worked

the command

fastboot oem device-info

told me:

(bootloader)     Device tampered: false
(bootloader)     Device unlocked: true
(bootloader)     Device critical unlocked: false
(bootloader)     Charger screen enabled: true
(bootloader)     Display panel:
OKAY [  0.005s]
Finished. Total time: 0.006s

So i thought that the critical unlocking was missing

I found the command fastboot unlock_critical

( if found it here: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-discover-hidden-fastboot-commands/)

This produced a recovery-reboot with the correct Recovery GUI from my TWRP file and I could proceed!

I hope that helps!
