Security consideration in Android Motorola phones

2020-09-15, 21:23 PM

Qualcomm, as most of you know, has done nothing to patch it's 400 plus architectural flaws, related to 2 DSP chips and some problems with bridges. MediaTek on the other hand, found the privilege elevation problem ( one DSP chip, on system on chip). After sending fix from MediaTek to manufacturers with none or too slow response. MediaTek gave patch to Google and Google placed it in 17.1 or Android 10. I bought a Moto one Macro ( MediaTek system on chip). I need promised upgrade to Android 10, in order to get security update as it is unclear if Motorola patched Android 9, currently on purchased device. My phone is faster if I'm the only owner. Please patch this NOW. This is still one of the better 2020 phones with MediaTek system on chip and at best price. Please give a care about security on your phones and demonstrate it by upgrading my Moto One Macro to Android 10 now. Thank you.

Re:Security consideration in Android Motorola phones

I am writing an addendum on my prior comment. I have just got an update to Android 10 with December 2020 Google security update compiled into update. I will never buy another Leveno or Motorola product. I have a OnePlus One from 2014 running Lineage OS. It is running Android 10 with February 2021 Google security update. I will get March security update before the end of month. And I just got a kernel update on March 4th 2021. Motorola support is horrible. Now after fully paying for an unlocked phone Motorola Moro One Macro, I don't even know if it can be unlocked via fastboot or ADB bridge in any way. This is not what one expects when one pays for an Unlocked phone. And no one should accept this as an UNLOCKED phone. Don't but Motorola, it is a complete cheat.
