Where can I find a ROM for Tab 4, model TB-8504F?

Hi.

I'm a new TB-8504F tablet owner, and needed to root it due to an app permission.

I was following this thread but made a grave newbie mistake and flashed TWRP into boot rather than recovery. Then from there everything went haywire. I couldn't find a stock image to replace the /boot, but now I found one but it seems very shady. I tried to flash boot but got stuck in a boot loop. I wiped cache etc, no luck, so I wiped system too. I tried to flash using fastboot flash system all the system files in the zip: ex: fastboot flash system system-1.img ... but after fastboot reboot, stuck at Lenovo logo. When I entered TWRP, it says that there is No OS installed. What could be the problem?

Anyone has a link to a custom/official rom for this tablet please? I need to use this tablet just as a glorified GPS, so it won't matter if it is buggy.

Any help is extremely appreciated because I am really saddened by this mistake

Tnx

Re: Where can I find a ROM for Tab 4, model TB-8504F?

Hi yanchomt,

I exactly know how to solve your problem if you want to root your tablet you really need to stay on the latest nougat update and not upgrade to oreo as TWRP doesn't recognise oreo another issue is that oreo is actually more unstable than nougat, you will I think succeed rooting on a oreo updated type of this tablet. I also reccomend rooting with magisk avoid using xposed as it is a 50/50 chance on booting.

Q : From where do you get the ROM?

A: 1. You go to this link (my link) and download the neccesary tools and files to fully flash the first Stock ROM link: https://bit.ly/36t9E5T

    2. You go to this link (my link) and download this backup TWRP file that the ROM is actually update to the latest version of the stock rom nougat link: https://bit.ly/32epmhN

Many thanks for your help!!!

I have tried your suggestion but I ran in these issues:

1) Couldn't for the life of me install the Microsoft drivers included with MiFlash. Tried to disable Integrity checks, worked for Android drivers but not for Microsoft.

This is the log:

[13:57:00]Smiley Surprisedpen RegistryKey Software\XiaoMi\MiFlash\
[13:57:01]:driver oem16.inf exists,uninstall,reuslt True,GetLastWin32Error

[13:57:04]:set RegistryKey value:android_winusb.inf--oem16.inf

[13:57:08]:set RegistryKey value:qcser.inf--oem41.inf

2) When I select the folder with the image files you linked (111 files in it) an error appears showing no flashing script. Error dialogue box says: couldn't find flash script. .. - I think, It seems the flash_all.bat is missing.

Many thanks for your help and concern!

Truly appreciated.
