I just got an uppdate. Very suspicious though, since the YT3 PRO started doing so OTA without any input. I read that tab 2 owners report the same recently. Anyone who knows what this is ? Magnus

My special needs child's tablet also just got this update.  After delaying it twice, it just did it without asking while she was doing school work.

Someone from Lenova should respond to these posts with answers.

I doubt it a lot, do no think it is legitimate. I cannot see any answers in the thread about Yoga tab 2 update either. Very suspicious..

Just got update also. Still showing android 6.0.1. System update screen appears to have changed. Hopefully they are putting in new bootloader for overdue android update

I hope you are right, but I think it is too optimistic. Lenovo has not exactly graced us with support and updates earlier. .

Re:Android Oreo update for Lenovo yoga tab 3 pro

This is the update screen I got:

I don't know why someone would think this is an illegitimate update if it comes from the Lenovo system update tool. <rant> But I echo that it sadly is showing up as 6.0.1 for the Yoga Tab 3's Android version, even after this update. It is baffling to me that we're part of this statistic: As of March 2020, 10% of Android devices use this unsupported (for security updates) Android 6.0 (API 23).[3] Didn't we buy a high end tablet just 3 months ago? </rant>

Back to reality, and knowing how these things work, software updates for legacy projects are only required for security updates. So this is most likely a security update with no feature or functionality upgrades. If anyone has info, I'd like very much to be proved wrong on this.
