Here it is:

B8000F-update-422_000_084_140310-to-442_001_018_140605.zip

  1. Download the file
  2. Rename it to update.zip
  3. Place it on your external sdcard
  4. Reboot into recovery
  5. It will say "No command" or some such
  6. Press the power button to bring up the recovery menu
  7. Press Volume Down until "Install update from sdcard" is selected
  8. Press Volume Up to select
  9. Press Volume Down until update.zip is selected
  10. Press Volume Up to select it
  11. It should then install

I finally got this installed myself.  I haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces yet, but so far so good, except for losing root.  I tried Framaroot and TowelRoot with no luck.

Other bugs I noticed:
1. Can't set a wallpaper through Google Plus Photos. (Google Plus not responding error)
2. Netflix videos won't play. There will be yellow and blue lines on the screen, and the video will be Pixelated.

Re: KitKat roll-out for Yoga Tablets starting June

My Yoga 8 received the new 4.4.2 Kit-Kat update this morning.  Installation went smoothly.

Too early to comment about performance.  I can't see any difference in the interface..  I am running Nova launcher, so maybe that explains why.

I do applaud Lenovo for stepping up and providing this update to customers.  It was needed and expected.

I hope this update fixes the many bugs that 4.2 had, at least that I experienced daily on this tablet.  The Gmail app was constantly showing "no connection - retry" before, even though the connection was fine.  The gmail app label header (top left) would also constantly go missing, with only a tiny [<] symbol that was hard to press.  Hope those got fixed.  Time will tell, as they did not always show up immediately.

Updated my Yoga 8 this morning.  No problems so far.  And I was rooted prior to the update.  Still went smoothly.

One question.  There is a service running now that I never noticed before and it's taking up a lot of the battery.  Under "battery" in settings, it's called "BladeModeDetectService".

Anyone know what it is?

Thanks!
