Lenovo Yoga 8" as a pdf reader?

2014-01-24, 23:19 PM

I'm thinking of buying a Lenovo Yoga 8-inch tablet for use mainly as a pdf and ebook reader. (The long battery life makes it particularly attractive to me.)

Can anyone comment on how suitable the Yoga will be, please? In particular, is the screen resolution sharp enough for long periods of reading?

Also, is it possible to use a stylus to make annotations on pdfs? I know the Yoga doesn't come with a stylus, but will the screen support one?

I'd be very grateful for any comments.

Best, K

Can't comment on the stylus but the screen on the 8" is very good. I've been using it for a few weeks now and no complaints at all. In fact I think it's a fantastic tablet. Fast and responsive enough for me.

I don't understand the reviews saying the screen res on the 8" is poor. It's not. The 10" has the same resolution so I imagine that's not great but on the 8" it's perfect for me.

What PDF reader do you use? Don't think I have one installed on my new Lenovo Yoga tab 3...Any advice appreciated.

I use it as a PDF and ereader. The screen is small but so are the ereaders.

You don't get the reading time as with a Link reader but with the response of a good tablet.

Check out different readers and choose one. The Google one works OK for me.

I also bought a protective case and a pen with touchscreen tip, works very good. The case has elastic band to store the pen, really a good option.

Tip: Before you start working and adding apps update to Lollipop first. Then check the SD card etc.
