Re: Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus - Battery Drain after latest system update

One of my main purchase reasons was the "18 hours battery usage", which I've so far found to be totally false: from the 100% charged position, this unit consumes approx. 8 to 10% battery charge  about every 15 to 20 mins, and that's mostly just for browsing and not (much) multimedia use! So far, I have not managed to get even TEN hours' use. The 18 hrs claim should be removed, because it's totally misleading!

True, due to poor optimization of the firmware.... Don't know if they ever going to release new update.. Maybe they upgrade to nougat later this year.... I think nougat will improve slightly the batery life...

I am still having battery problems when tethering is on. I am using the lte version. Battery drain is around 45%per day with tethering on but 1% or 2% when tethering is off. The screenshot shows the difference in battery usage.

Re: Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus - Battery Drain after latest system update

After using this tablet a lot since I bought it I must admit I'm a bit disappointed over the battery drain. It gets a bit to hot compared to my older A10-70 and also can't keep up with the battery capasity. It's almost like the Tab 3 are somehow very ineffective compared to the A10-70.

Another complain I got is that the screen seems to get unresponsive when it gets colder typical outdoor use. When I wake it up with the power button, I can't unlock the screen because the screen won't respond to any touch. Annoying. The trick is to cycle the screen on/off a few times.

NTFS and exFAT both work perfectly with our ROM that was linked by tombraga. I just tested this with an external NTFS-formatted USB HDD.

Re: Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus - Battery Drain after latest system update

Hi Guys,

I had the Lenovo Tab 3 Pro, and returned it for poor battery. The estimations are subjective, but Aida64 reported a 4400 battery inside. I know there are 2 batteries, one of 4400 and one of 5800 or so. Can mine be defective? I guess it also had the battery drain over night issue.....I didn;t expect it to hold more than 4-6 hours of full-time use.

I returned it to get the Plus, and in this one, Aida shows a 2000 mAh battery.....

Should i drop them both, or get back to the PRO, considering that the reports are both false, and the battery will last as expected? I understand that the PRO should be better in terms of performance, despite being older?

Re: Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus - Battery Drain after latest system update

I had a 3 Pro also, and right away after purchasing I did the system update. The battery life was awful, almost 1% per hour in stand by. I check the battery with different apps and indeed only the 4400 mah battery was recognized, but the 6000 mah was not recognized and I presume not used by the system. The charging time is also an indicator that only the small battery is in use - around 2 hours. Also, the tablet was getting pretty hot, even in stand by.

The tablet went in service for 3 times, no changes at all. After that I got a new one, and with that one I did not do the proposed system update. The battery life was great, max discharge 2-3% per day in stand by, charging time was around 5 hours(so, both battery were in use).

After a few weeks, I couldn't resist the temptation and I did the system update.

Bad decision. I went back to all that **bleep**: tablet is getting hot, only the 4400 mah battery is recognized, battery life about 2-3 days in stand by.

Now I'm trying to find a way to reinstall the stock system version, maybe that will fix the problem.

I was hoping someone from Lenovo will notice and fix the probleme, but 6 monts passed and nothing yet.
