Yoga Tab 3 10" - List of compatible Micro SD cards???

2016-03-12, 2:32 AM

I decided to buy external storage for my Yoga Tab 3 10" and I'm totally stumped.  I have looked through Lenovo's site and documentation and can't seem to find a list of compatible micro SD cards for this tablet.  Can someone provide a link if a list exists please?

I was about to buy a SanDisk Ultra microSDXC 64GB Class 10 card but realized it may not work in the tablet.  Is it compatible?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi gardenhobbit and welcome to the community,

I'm using a SanDisk Ultra Plus 64 GB in mine  and it works fine. Same tablet.

Regards,

Dave

Most Micro SD cards formated to FAT32 should work. I've interchanged many different kinds of micro sd cards into my tablet, all worked flawlessly.

Congratulations! You're about to get my Micro-SDXC lecture. The Micro-SDXC standard was promulgated to make your device obsolete-proof from the standpoint of what card to use. You can use ANY card that is Micro-SDXC compliant. You can also use any card that is Micro-SDHC compliant. Micro -SDXC cards range from 32 gb on up. You should be able to use ANY Micro-SDXC card you like. I have on order, and will be delivered to me shortly, a Micro-SDXC 200 GB card, for my Yoga 3 8.0.

The evidence for this is simple: the manufacturers simply put into their literature whatever card capacity is the maximum at the time, for those devices that are Micro-SDXC compliant. Thus, in my Samsung Galaxy Note 4, I'm currently using the same SanDisk 200 GB card that I've ordered for my Yoga. Works fine there, and there is no reason that it shouldn't work fine in my Yoga, since the standard to which the device was designed will be good, regardless of how big the capacity of an SDXC card grows to. The Micro SD Association has set 2 TB as the upper limit for Micro SD cards. Clearly, we're nowhere near that, just yet.

The 64 microSDXC card I bought for mine doesn't work in my tablet.  Also, there is no way to default to the micro SD storage in the settings.

By the way, the microSDXC works just fine in my mac file system.

Very frustrated and disappointed with this device.  Would not recommend it to anyone at this time.

I installed a microSDXC 128gb card into my Lenovo Tab 3 Pro.  I am not sure if the disk is actually mounted.  Under Settings: Storage, the Mount and Erase words are now black.  But the tablet sends me a notification that the card is not configured. Also, when I click Mount, nothing seems to happen except a swiping effect. What am I missing?

I liked what I hear you say but I've just had to return a

SanDisk Ultra 128 GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card

to Amazon because my Yoga 3 Pro tablet wouldn't recognize it.

SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 Memory Card from another tablet worked fine with the Yoga.

I'm going for a 64 gig card to try that.

Thanks for the info.
