Re: Yoga Tab 3 Pro: Great tab KILLED by no exFAT file support

2017-04-18, 20:19 PM
Update.. after countless tris, i found out that if you take Your sdcard and format it as internal drive it will allow bigger files..
I cannot Access the internal drive on 32gb anymore, but at least i have 114GB on my sccard that allow for big files..
The sync issue was my next problem, just use SPMC or KODI as Your media player and it will be almost Perfect.
I can now when i Access my NAS using NFS also stream 4K without almost any hiccups.

A good router is of course necessary but at least it Works now..

Hope this helps.. :)

But to LENOVO- : Just fix this issue huh??
Ill donate PAYPAL to you 5 dollars no problem to be allowed to use exfat. its so idiotic to not allow exfat i dont have any Words..
Im not decided if im gonna Return it yet though.
I find it most likely to be much more issues later when this obvious Things are not beeing fixed first hand by the Developers..

Anyone got a suggestion about a similar tablet that has same specs and can do 4K??

Have you tried using external apps like

#2 Total commander with USB- plugin

This is the most popular (and also a free) way to use NTFS formatted HDD on Android. Here you need to install two free apps from Google play.

First, install the total commander app — it’s a file browser that will help us to browse the content of our drive.

Next, install USB plugin for Total Commander— it’s an extension for the file browser that will do the actual job i.e. mounting the external Hard drive.

Once done, connect your hard drive to your Android using OTG cable. Again the app will recognize your volume and you will see a notification at the bottom saying, open the drive with Paragon UMS. However, if you don’t see the notification, then simply open the app and refresh it. It should work.

There is also an option to get write access. However, since this app is still in beta, the write feature didn’t work for me. But the good part is, along with NTFS, it can also read HFS formatted drives.

I think that would only help with accessing external USB drives, not with the SD card. Worth a try though, if the SD card reader is hooked up internally via a USB connection there may be a workaround in there somewhere.

Ok, through OTG you can see >4gb files inside a pendrive, but if you try to watch a movie..somewhere it stops ( I think when it reaches the 4gb equivalent in length --> 8gb movie, 2 hours, it stops after 1 hour )
