Hey,

You can try a memory card of Strontium company (10 MB data transfer
capacity). I bought this and after inserting it, I haven't faced any such
problems.

I had the same problem with my yoga2  8 inch, but when I re-formatted the 32gb card to fat32, it worked fine and so far (it's been weeks), no unmount problem.

Hi,
I do not think it is a hardware fault. I have thought he same card in my
Yoga 2, 10 inch tablet. Since the update to Android 5, my SD Card still
discounts when the Tablet is in sleep or screen lock mode, but on waking
up the sd card remounts and works fine. I have sent 2 error log files to
Lenovo, so hopefully it will be solved in the future, but on my tablet is
now workable on Android 5 and I have moved all my apps I can to run from
the sd card and all now works. Hope this helps.
Paul

Re: micro sd card unmounts itself on yoga 2 10 inch

I wanted to provide an update for this issue.

The development team has reviewed multiple logs provided by several customers spanning both KitKat and Lollipop images and has been unable to find any explanation in the code for the auto-unmounting of microSD cards.

As shared in this discussion, changing the brand of microSD card provides a feasible workaround for many customers who experience this problem.

However, I would be interested in knowing if anyone has sent their tablet into Lenovo for Service, received a motherboard replacement, and the same microSD card no longer auto-unmounts - thereby resolving the issue.

Thank you,

Hi Amy,

Do you know if this is only an issue with Samsung SD cards?

Is it a size issue, eg only 32 and 64 GBs?

Is it only Micro SD cards or Mini and regular SD cards?

Cheers.

I have test it with a real micro sd lexmar 32gb, and it's work good.

I can't test with other micro sd. It's real card, not with adapter.

Did the development team check if the problem is related to power saving issues (which may also originate in the hardware)?

Since the problem seems to be confined to one family of cards (Samsung EVO), it should be straightforward to compare the specifications and properties of non-working and working SD cards (from other manufacturers).
