Backflip Restart With APN? (needs better wording sorry!)

2011-09-08, 2:43 AM

My stepmother is planning on moving to Sprint and said I could have her Backflip after she did.  I don't have a data plan and don't plan on getting one soon.  If I scramble the APN with her disabled SIM card, then insert mine, will it keep those settings so that I don't get caught with it?

Ok,

I now understand your question in the other thread where I just posted. Unfortunately, even if you disable the data, at&t will recognize the IMEI of the phone once it authenticates on the network. You will then get a text message along the lines that "the $15/mo. internet plan has been added for your convenience" because they realized that you are using a smartphone. The only way (to my knowledge) to use a smartphone without getting an at&t internet plan is to use a non-at&t device that their system cannot recognize as a smartphone.
