Motorola Backflip 2.1 Disable Data Connection

2011-09-13, 20:17 PM

In Android 2.1, more specifically the Backflip running it, how can you disable the data connection completely.  Don't suggest APNDroid or similar app.  I want something simple and built in, like dial a number and go through a menu.

If you would like a simple way, you can add the power control widget to one of your home screens.  On the widget you'll have screen brightness, wifi, bluetooth, GPS and background data toggles.

There is no app to download, the power control widget is built into all Android devices.

Thanks,

J

The background data widget isn't on it.

They'll probably ask why I want to add the data block and they'll add the plan if I tell them that this is the reason why.

May I ask why you have a problem with apndroid? I believe this is the best and most straightforward way to disable the internet connection.

APNDroid simply saves your APN settings, deletes them from Android's memory, and restores them when you tell it to.  Sometimes it fails.  Any leads on how well *#*#4636#*#* ->phone information ->menu ->disable mobile data works?
