2010-06-17, 0:05 AM
I have had my Backflip for about a month. 3G works great and bluetooth does also but when I go into Wifi mode I cannot connect to the web. My back flip says says it is connected to my router, a Linksys WRT54G2, but I cannot connect to the the web. My router is working a smy PC connects without a problem.. My pc does not see the Backflip. I am using WEP security. Any suggestions? Thanks

Does it work with other routers?

Does the router have MAC address filtering on?

If you temporarily turn of security can you connect?

Do not know. I only have one router available. Have not tried an outside router.

@Reli37

This the issue already discussed here. Please search other threads before posting so that we can keep messages concentrated. (Temporary) solution for when this happens is briefly turning the airplane mode on and then back off after 5-10 seconds.

However, now that we are here, can you tell me if you have the exclusive Motoblur update or you have the original firmware. This can help us determine if this is the update issue or it was already present before.

Mac address filtering is turned off and I cannot connect even if I turn off my protection.

The leads I found referred to the Droid, not the Backflip.

Going into Airplane Mode has no effect.

Do not know if the Mooblur version is the latest. Site says I have 0.12.1199.MB300.ATT.

Tried to load Motohelper onto PC but apparently it does not work with Win 7 64 bit pc's.

Strange, as it works for me on the Backflip every time when it looks as if I am connected but (showing full strength signal), and other devices have connection (laptops, dekstops etc.) while the phone behaves as if there was no connection.

this happened to me too.

turn off the phone & remove battery and unplug the router for 10 min.  Thats right, 10 min.  Thats a long time.  Plug router back in and 2 min later install battery and turn on phone.

Let me know if that works.

Reli37,

If you install WiFi Analayzer from the market can you see your local network with your phone when you run it? When run WiFi analyzer will show the network your are connected to and all networks in range of you with their channel, SSID and security. Swiping sideways through the screens shows other info.

If you access your router through your broswer do you see your phone as a DHCP client? I access mine using 192.168.2.1 and I can see which computers on my local network are currently clients.

If your phone can see the network and the network can see the phone and you still can not connect to the internaet try a different browser (such as Opera Beta from the market).
