Will I have to back up my files, mp3, pics, settings, ringtones... etc?

The update does not effect any files you have on your SD card. Of course the paranoid careful user will back those up anyway.

I don't think that the upgrade process will effect your linked contacts or your account settings. I did not see any effect on my e-mail accounts. I don't use FB or Twitter so I don't have linked accounts from any of the social networking sites to deal with.

I don't remember having to reset my ringtones or message tones. But that is a memory and memory  is the gateway to fantasy (or inaccuracy if you are a defense attorney).

I have been through the update process twice with no adverse effects to my phone or hassles with having to redo a bunch of settings. YMMV.

So just updated from 13.35 to 13.37. Seems responsive but still cant see certain apps in the market. That is the one thing I was really hoping would be fixed from 13.35

My experience was that apps that I "lost" with 13.35 came back with 13.37.

@AustinGroper

If you were on 12.1199 and are now on 13.37 there were a lot of changes. FC on Market Notifications was not an item that was fixed in this software update however.

If you were on 13.35 and updated to 13.37, there was essentially no visible difference between the two software versions.

i was on 12.1199

my phone may be still laggy from all the apps i have. because this phone doesnt have that much internal space... i think with the 2.1 update you should be able to put apps on your SD card.

I believe that is a functionality supported on FroYo 2.2 and not Eclair 2.1.
