BladeCenter S - SAS RAID Module continuous restart of Ctlr1

Hello everybody,

 

System:

BladeCenter S - 88861TG

2x SAS RAID Contr. - 44X3352

 

To connect new HDD´s (Lenovo-Brand) we must update the SAS RAID Contr.

Ctlr-0 looks fine, no problems, new firmware!

Ctlr-1 starts automaticly, but in the end...

 

Msg 202 Waiting for Ctlr 1 CLI to be available.
Msg 203 DSM firmware update has started.
Msg 204 Waiting for Ctlr 1 DSM fw update.
Msg 205 Waiting for Ctlr 1 DSM fw update.
Msg 206 Ctlr 1 DSM fw update finished.

ERROR: Firmware upgrade Ctlr 1 FAILED.

MSG: ./SbInst.py failed in function updateRcFwConcurrent, rc = 4.

 

After that message, Ctlr-1 restarts permanently.

-Starting

-Service

-NotAvailable

-Service

-Failed

-Starting

.......

 

If the Controller ist in Service-Mode, i type "shutdown -ctlr 1 -state servicemode". But the restart continues.

Power Off an Power On by the AMM, nothing!

Restart and Full Diagnostics by the AMM, nothing!

 

What can i do??

 

Firmware to upgrade: 2.3.4.035

Can you configure only controller-1( remove ctrl-0 and HDD) ? Then confirm ctrl-1 status.

Both the RSSM needs to be at either IBM version or Lenovo version, you can't mix them and expect them to work together as a pair. Maybe it's the cause of ctlr1 continuous restart.

 

>> Pull out Ctlr0.

>> Pull all the drives 1" out in the bay.

>> Try to update Ctlr1 code as SINGLE CONTROLLER. FW version is same as Ctlr0.

 

A single controller status in the list controller output is STANDALONE.

           <CLI> list controller

         Example output:

         The RAID controller must be rebooted into Service Mode.
 
         From the controller CLI issue the following command:

           <CLI> shutdown -ctlr 0 -state servicemode

 

         The RAID controller will reboot into Service Mode. Login to the
         RAID controller and verify that the controller is in Service Mode
         by issuing the following command from the controller CLI:

           <CLI> list controller

         Example output:
