Minimize use of G2G3

2010-08-10, 22:46 PM

Hi All,

I am only new to this new Smart Phont thing, had the phone only a few days and my plan is only 100meg per month, and so far after 3 days I am up to 9meg.

What settings do I need to change to disable auto email checking etc?

I wish to limit all auto sync systems... I will check my emails via the phone only when I have a wireless connection.

In summary, I need to minimize my internet usage.... Please help !!!

Cheers.

Craig.

To change the E-mail push time, open the "Email" app, press the CliqXT-Menu.png key, select the "Get new email" option from the screen and select "Manually".

Your phone will now only check for E-mail at times of your choosing.

Now, press the CliqXT-Home.png key.

Press the CliqXT-Menu.png key and select "Settings".

Select "Google synchronization".

Un-check all of the boxes and press the CliqXT-Back.png key until you are all the way back to your home screen.

You're finished! Your phone should no longer connect to mobile data without your input. I hope this meets your needs.

Good luck.

I'm really sorry, but I cannot find that option under email..

I am running the Quench model with, I believe the 1.5 version of Android.. However that setting you are talking about would be great if I can find it..

My menus don't look to be the same as what you are saying..

Cheers.

Craig.

They must be a little different than the Cliq XT settings. Have you tried the Google Sync options yet?

Hi,

Yes... although that sounds like a good idea.

I have turned off all sync settings...

Just hope it works, otherwise I will be paying for extra data use, which will not be happy about..

Motorola and Android need to make that section more flexiable, although it does look as if your model has the option..

Perhaps there is an update.

Cheers...

Thanks for your help.

Craig.
