i had to close my t-mobile account today. thought i'd still have access to the data ON the phone.
is there anyway i can get to my address book? when i go to my phone, i get the "No SIM card" message, and can't get to anything else.

the old sim card IS in the phone; the phone isn't seeing it.
am wondering if there's a key command, or a way to access files with the card inactive...??
i can see that wifi is on, i just can't get past the main screen.

I have my XT at home. I will see how to get it to work when I get back later.
thanx; am pretty stressed, have over 500 contacts in my phonebook, trying to get to them...

OK, I cant get it to open either without a valid Sim. If your worried about your contacts they should be saved to your Google account and or you T-Mobile account. You can go to Google account online and export them or use them in any android phone by just using your Google account when you sign in. T Mobiles contacts are listed online but not all phones can have them pushed to them.

can't get in to t-mobile since i closed it today, and no google account.
ugh. is there a 'trick' to accessing the phone?
i actually plugged it into usb on my mac, and for some reason could access the screens on the phone...once.
have not been able to get back to any screen since...

this is actually my GF's phone, and...no, she didn't use the market.
am gonna try a usb simcard reader, but first..will send her to an att store, see if they can get the data off the card.
was hoping there was a key command or something to access the card...

If the contacts were saved to the sim maybe ATT can get them off of it. There is no code to make it work. I would recommend that if your using smart phones to always use Google as your contact backup since it can be used in any smart phone and also accessed online as well if you need to export them.
