Calling all Laptop, Desktop, and Tablet owners: We need to hear more from you!

We are listening and taking actions! Our product design and engineering teams are listening to our customers, we hear your input and we are taking action. Whether it is through our social media channels, our forums, blogs, or fan clubs around the world, your input matters and we are tracking it.  We heard you loud and clear on our ThinkPad clickpad design, and we’ve reacted – the buttons are back! More changes are in the pipeline, each driven by deep customer understanding from around the globe.  When you give us your feedback you are personally helping to influence the next wave of technology that Lenovo puts onto the market.

The User Experience and User Research Group would like to hear from you.

Our User Experience and User Research group is one of many teams at Lenovo using customer feedback to impact change on future generations of products. The team is comprised of User Experience Hardware and Software Designers, Concept Developers, Strategy & Branding Designers, as well as User Experience Researchers.

The UX/UR team wants to hear from you, one way to express your opinions regarding Lenovo PC products is to take part in our Product Ownership Survey described below. Your open and honest, constructive feedback is more than welcomed.

Product Ownership Survey

If you have recently acquired a Lenovo PC or Think PC, you’re invited to weigh in by taking our brief, 5-10 minute Product Ownership Survey.

For this round, we are seeking those of you who are actively using your Lenovo, Think, or Idea Laptop, Yoga, Desktop, Workstation, All-in-One PC, Tablet or Detachable Tablet PC.

If this is you, click on the following link and help Lenovo design the future!

Thank you very much in advance!

The survey is currently seeking input on PC products and not Android tablets and phones.  If you have recently purchased one of those products and would still like to give feeback, select "other" when the survey asks about which product you have.

GOOD idea! thank you for this opportunity, but. I consider it would be more helpfull to have open this feedback flow 24/7. for instance.. if i have a lenovo product and I have feedback, I have it on the spot and would like to have a place where to click and provide the feedback at that time and not follow this site to see when it is opened to receive inputs related to that given product. As a lenovo employee, i would greatly appreciate to be able to provide inputs and feedback related to new/existing products, get involved in shaping the future products and by having a place to go to and insert my inputs at any time i wish, would be, in my oppinion, beneficial for me and for this company. thanks!

Hi akortis,

Well, this survey is open 24/7 and is being promoted in a number of locations, but I think you have some great feedback - this survey is also being made available through the companion app, so it is available on all systems we have shipped with Windows 8 and above.

Hi,

first of all really thanks you giving opportunity by asking us what we want and what we love.

i would love Classic Thinkpads back again with original keyboard, original design with every unique ThinkPad specs. maybe modernized but no totally different style.

also i want

- more strong build quality. for example after while using thinkpads, keyboard and plastic areas begin to shine. it s odd. also hinges begin to feel weak.

- easyupgrade options and easy removal and installation design like thinkcentres just like adding ram. like transformers. you cant imagine how many screw i broked while installing - upgrading some hardwares inside. also after opened cases it begins to flex.

easy to open inside like this one : IBM ThinkPad 755CD `

i beleive that if you make really unique laptops like classic thinkpads, no one can reach to the level in pc market. and they will recall ThinkPads for PCs just like IBM. every pc manufacturers are designing same things nowadays. i really wish ThinkPads are totally different than others.

new thinkpads look like more mac - pc hybrid. they are not unique, plus weak quality.

You need to worry to protect ThinkPad brand instead of money. money comes alone after good quality and good service trust me Smiley Wink just some respect to ThinkPads

Well... What do I want?

- How about products that can actually work for more than 1 year without breaking apart ?

- How about decent support for all product lines (INCLUDING THOSE THAT ARE OLDER THAN 1 YEAR). You seem to keep forgetting the older models.

Most of us buy a product that we need, and use daily. We cannot afford the time to have that product taken to a service for a MONTH. Some of us work with these devices, same as you - we have deadlines, clients, bosses.

Now I have to go tell my boss that I will not be able to go to work for a month because my laptop decided to start acting up out of the blue. I cannot afford to not work for a month, and most likely I will keep using a dying laptop that barely functions 'till it completely dies. AND it's 1 year old.

Smartly built survey... If you don't say all that you have to say on first page, then there is not much chance to tell it on last page :Smiley Very Happy

Stay professional and change the survey and mark final page as "It's a last chance to tell what's wrong with our products" Smiley Very Happy

@ Onepamopa - thank you for voicing out. I really thought I was one unlucky customer and one of a few to experience such inconvenience and distress over a product and design that Lenovo took pride in. I too have spent 1 month trying to solve the problems with a brand new Lenovo Yoga Pro 3.

I am now using laptop number four of the same model in 1 month, a proof of my blind faith in this product and increasing disillusionment....and deludedness... I was already advised by friends and colleagues, after laptop 1 that I should perhaps change brands...

Objectively speaking, the after sales service i.e. technical and service support were very helpful, however, when purchasing a brand new product you wouldn't think you'd have problems already from hour 1.

Front line and customer service attitude were less than professional and frankly quite rude. I was lucky that I'd purchased through a retailer...otherwise my brand new laptop would be out of the shop and sent straight to repair.

@ Limpaar - also thank you for sharing your point. I thought it was great when this assessment came out (though also somewhat ironic)... that there was a channel where I could communicate with Lenovo...where customers' views would be valued and heard... I then was filtered out on the second page and that was the end of that...

Is there a Lenovo representative online? I'm not one to cry online without first assessing and taking alternative steps to solve the problem...I have been co-operating and I'd say pretty patient...

Lenovo.... where are you?... Those that do...

How about a survey for Android tablet and phone owners?  Other non-Windows products?

As an old school fan of Thinkpads, starting with the 600e, I've come to enjoy them quite a bit.  I hadn't bought any of the Lenovo offerings as I was a skeptic.

I went out on a limb and bought an X250, which I intended to only run Linux on. It works ok, but I would love to see Lenovo/Thinkpad more active in the Linux community as these machines are heavily used by Linux folk.  In fact I'd love to buy a thinkpad that shipped with Linux.

On that same token, I'd love to see Lenovo has a whole adopt some of the libreboot or other open source BIOS options, some of us are a little worried about just how many blobs ship with a system and would love to have as much control as possible.

The only other thing, as these machines are in the same price point as the Apple products, I think a little more focus on QC would be great. My X250 is decent, but a couple little gaps here or there that might have been caught with a bit of tighter QC. I also ran into an issue with the 1.06 firmware bricking the laptop, which was resolved and documented in the forums here.
