I am trying to change SIM cards on my Motorola.Defy cell phone but the Motoblur account requires an email address and password but the last time I used Motoblur was when I bought the phone 3 years ago. Motoblur recognises an email address which is no longer valid but when I tried resetting a forgotten password, it sent those details to that address. How do I get past this issue?

Hi Mark, I no longer use the email address which I had when I originally set up Motoblur - and that is the problem. When I reset my forgotten password, that link was sent to an address which is no longer valid. Regards Dave

Sorry I didn't read closely enough. Thanks for confirming though. I'll have someone look into this and see if we can get you set up with the new email address.

Hi there. Dave you should be able to reset the phone and create a new account. We can't change the email address listed on the current account.
Directions for External Reset are here.
