Can't remove battery, stuck in compartment.

2010-10-24, 19:42 PM

When inserting a new battery, after several tries to get past the red safety lock, I finally got the battery in, but in my frustration caused by multiple attempts to insert, the paper pull tab for removing the battery got stuck folded underneath the battery. Now I can't get the battery out.

Any advice?

I figured it out. I was able to flip the paper tab out by sliding the flat end of one blade on a pair of tweerers between the battery and the casing. Luckily the paper tag is plastic coated and didn't cut it off. But it's poor design: the paper tag is too short, and it takes three hands to get a battery inserted---1 to hold the red locking tab, one to push in the batery and 1 to hold the paper tag so it doesn't get pulled in while inserting the battery.

I know. You need mini me fingers to grab hold of the darn thing. But if it should break, just use some scotch tape under and over and leave a long tab on one end to pull the battery.

I'm guessing the tab that pulls the battery out broke on your Devour?

Now I understand more about it, Thanks for your effort!
