It's unfortunate that you feel that way. When I bought my phone last March there were no promises of an upgrade, nothing in writing from Motorola or from Verizon.  The phone had Motoblur which I had never heard of and I liked it. I soon learned a little about the Android OS system and there were ocasional  updates and the possibility on a software upgrade. Last week Verizon said the Devour was going to get an upgrade, now I see this article. Like everyone else, I'm a little dissapointed with this announcement, but I was not counting on an upgrade.  In a year or so, I'll get another phone.  If motoblur is gone,  it'll still be a Moto android phone. Attention MOTO, count me in as a lost customer.  I believe this info as been know for months, and we were getting this evaluation crap.

And, to sell and still sell hardware that will not get upgrades is really low.  I saw on a Facebook site, that some users are mounting a drive to contact the better business bureau.  I suspect I'll look into that, and put in a claim.

This news is both very disappointing, and yet, I am not surprised.  I got a feeling that this was going to happen since all the Moto techs stopped responding.

But, as a consumer all I have is my next purchase as a vote, and it will never again be a Moto product.

I was new to the Moto family and figured that Moto was on the rise. So, I looked for the best looking Moto device out there and at that time it was the Devour. So I jumped on it, expecting that it would get full support and upgrades/updates that the others have gotten and are now getting. It been hard watching all these other phones that you have produced get theirs, but ours be forgotten or lost in the shuffle just so new devices could be pushed out. In the long run Motorola, the more you forget about those who made the jump only to be treated like this, the more that are going to remember what happened to them and remember more importantly that Motorola is incompetent.

When my 2 years are up, I will be getting an HTC, which is what I should have went with to begin with, but I was impatient and tired of my old Helio Ocean. Only thing left to do now is root and wait for a working 2.1 or 2.2 rom.

Thanks for nothing, Motorola.

I'm sure Motorola has there reasons for no update for the Devour, I know it under performed, and they got to do whatever to bounce back and make right choices for there company, I rather Motorola stay in the game, than go out making poor decisions of updating a product which didn't sell well! I'm still a Motorola fan, and still love the Devour....

Well at least we finally know. It's a shame this phone was dropped so quickly because it really is a nice design overall. That's the main reason I got it. That and they made it look so good in the ads. Oh well.

It's the same reason i got it, The Devour is made exceptionaly well, I would of loved to have 2.1 update on it, but I know Motorola made the right decision!

Motorola works with their business partners concerning upgrade decisions, so why does everyone here assume that it was a Motorola decision? Could it be that Verizon pulled the plug - deciding that money spent on marketing the Droid2 and DroidX was better spent than the cost of supporting the Devour?
