Blank screen after using the dialpad

2011-03-28, 15:02 PM

Hello all,

Can anyone help me resolve the issue of the screen going black whenever I place a call?  Is there some option that I should turn off?

When placing a call, the screen normally goes black after you dial and put the phone to your ear.  When you pull the phone away from your head again (during the call), it normally comes back on again.  Does yours not behave this way?  (There is no setting or option.) - MarkC

The screen is supposed to go black when you keep the phone next to your cheek. But if there is something to obstruct the sensor it may cause the behaviour you are describing. Are you using screen protector? If it covers the area on the left side of the earpiece opening/grill, this is likely the case. Either remove it or make a cut out so it doesn't cover that area.

Here is a pic I made for reference: (the two red circles - sorry I should have made them more visible)

Thanks but it was my screen protector blocking the sensors.

FWIW, this is much more common than what you might imagine.  It's good to hear you are back in operation again.   --- Dan
