apps downloaded and installed, but widget doesn't appear

2011-06-08, 3:19 AM

I love my new Droid2 Global, but I'm frustrated at a problem I've encountered.  After several successful app downloads, installs and activations, I find that when I dowload an app, it gets dowloaded and installed, but no widget appears, so I'm unable to activate/use it.  The widget appears as an installed application, but I still cannot activate it.  I can uninstall them, but not activate them.  What am I doing wrong?

To add a widget to one of your homescreens, long press on a home screen and select "Android Widgets."

The widgets you are looking for should be there!

Not that the OP asked this, but it comes up.  Widgets are generally not available if apps are installed on the SD card.  I regularly read the write-ups and reviews of apps on Appbrain.com and while many developers state this, not all do.  Most new phones coming to market have more internal memory to help offset this. - MarkC
