2014-05-09, 5:43 AM

I'm not familiar with this site. Could this be true? Anyone get an invite?

When you agree to participate in a soak, you also agree to not talk about it. So, nobody in a soak would be able to answer your question.

That is fair.  Can anyone say, based on past experience, how long after the start of a soak test the general rollout tends to start?  Days?  Weeks?

Usually just a few days unless there are issues.

I have seen everything from the week following the soak to several weeks or more...

Patience ...cool

I also wonder if the reported soak invites are actually for the later Maxx and Ultra models vs, the older razr hd and Maxx HD ... frown

Even so, it would be nice if Matt and Mark could just confirm that it is actually happening.

Everybody wants to know what you want to know.  But Matt and Mark are bound by the terms of  a soak just like everyone else, probably more than us, since their continued employment may depend on it.  Soaks are secret.  It's disturbing that people violate the confidentiality they agreed to by forwarding their emails to websites like Droid Life.  And, Droid Life has been known in the past to post things that aren't entirely true (trying to be polite here).

Search this forum and you'll find numerous threads just like this one.  Unfortunately for our curiosity and anticipation, the rules are the rules.

I echo "crystallet's" comments: Soaks are supposed to be secret, and notifications regarding the soaks as well.  "Thumbs up" to all the MFN members that do play by the rules.

The first rule of Soak Test is: You do not talk about Soak Test. The second rule of Soak Test is: You do not talk about Soak Test...

As for how long it usually takes (shouldn't be covered by the NDAs). In the past it's usually taken one week from soak invite to public release as long as they don't find any major problems.

As others have said, there's no set schedule after a soak for the software to roll to the general public.  Typically, it's within a week or two of the close of the soak.  When the software rolls out, it will roll in waves, and I don't know how the waves are chosen; sometimes it appears to be geographically, and others, not.  In any event, it can take a week or two to get to your wave, but typically, by the end of two or three weeks, most people have been covered.

While it may not be fast enough for our liking, it is what it is.    indecision
