Did you name the folder "ringtone" or "ringtones"? It must be named "ringtones" with the "s". It works fine on my phone, so it should also work on yours. Hope this helps.

I noticed that it might be working as you described, because I created a ringtone on my PC and copied it on my device via USB to that folder and it showed up on Ringtones list now.  However it wasn't instantaneously in the list.   But, I am not certain if the phone doesn't recognize MP3 files as ringtones.  I noticed when I was exlporing my phone using the x-plore file explorer that the standard ring tones are in a format named  *.ogg. So,  I converted my MP3 file to an OGG format file using  a program I have on my PC.  I placed both files on my phone MP3 and OGG, so I don't know which one it is recognizing as a ringtone. I just delted the MP3 file and the ring tone remained.  So I am thinking that the phone doesn't readily recognize MP3 file formats as a Ringtone.    Ringtone Maker saves theirs files in that folder as well and makes MP3 files. So I don't know why the phone did not recognize my new MP3 file when I placed my new mp3 file in the Rigntones folder.

Anyway I like the Ringtone Maker app , It is easy to use and makes quick ringtones. My wife wanted me to make her a ringtone for her old Razr Flip phone. I make made it pretty quickly and sent it to her phone via Text Message.

I think I was the only one that mentioned Zedge in my post on page 7 cheeky...but Catt wasn't the OP and this kind of strayed a bit in regards to ringtone issues.  Anyways, glad you got these working Catt!

Glad you got it to work. Ringtone Maker would have worked too.  I looked at both apps Zedge and Ringtone Maker and decided on Ringtone Maker because it was a smaller application so I wouldn't be eating up space on SD Card.

However Joelbon was right that the Ringtones folder works, but for some reason it didn't work the first time I moved my mp3  file in there.  It only started work after installing the Ringtone Maker app. I have placed mp3 files in the Notifications and Alarms Folder as well and can select those tones when I am in the settings menu.

Also it should be noted that these folders are not on the "SD Card". They were already on my device under  "Device Storage"  not under "SD card".

Anyway all is well now.  smiley

I noticed that my battery life with Jelly Bean is worse than with ICS.   I don't know why, I use the smartactions to save my battery life, but is noticable worse now.  Anyone else having battery life issues?  Any suggestions on improving battery life?

I have  Droid Razr.

Thanks
